Do we have to wait for someone to enter our lives to feel happiness and love?  What are we waiting for?

Mike Kraus was born on the industrial shoreline of Muskegon, Michigan. After earning his Fine Arts Degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he attended Grand Valley State University for his graduate degree. From there, he gained varied experiences from the Chicago Architecture Center, Art Institute of Chicago, Hauenstein Center For Presidential Studies, Lollypop Farm Humane Society, and Lurie Children's Foundation. And every place he worked, he had his sketchbook with him and found ways to be actively creative. In 2014, Kraus became a full-time artist by establishing Mike Kraus Art. Since then, he has sold thousands of paintings that are displayed in nearly every state and dozens of countries. Currently, Kraus lives in Rochester, New York with his beautiful wife and goofy dog.

Cabin In Treman State Park

 Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

Cabin In Treman State Park
acrylic on canvas board
8" x 10" (20.3 cm x 25.4 cm)

Our feet are sore after hiking along Enfield Creek to see Lucifer Falls.  It's a rocky gorge full of cliffs, stairs, and waterfalls.  There's an explosion of color that matches the roar of the water.  At the end of the rim trail is the cabin.  A perfect place to get away from the world.

This painting would look best in a space that is green, red, violet, purple, brown  beige, black, white, or on wood.

A View of the Blue Mountains of the Adirondacks

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

It was a steep and treacherous hike up the mountain in the Adirondacks.  A wild region full of deer, herons, and chipmunks.  You may even find a moose, coyote, or black bear on these trails.  The dense pine forest opens up to a meadow full of brisk autumn air.  There is a startling calmness.  And from this view, it's as if we can see all six million acres of this park.

This painting would look best in a space that is red, orange, purple, yellow, green, blue, beige, or wood.

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

Summer is still hot, but autumn will be here before you know it.  When that time comes, we'll need a pop of color to compliment the neutral tones of our pants and sweaters.  And a new mask is ultra fun, so you'll def have something to show off.

Visit: https://society6.com/mikekraus/masks
for a few examples of what all the cool kids will be wearing as the air begins to chill. And you'll be protecting your loved ones with asthma, heart disease, diabetes, overweight, have/survived cancer, and 50+ year old parents/grandparents.

Get in on the action too.  Have a mask already?  Share on social media using #MikeKrausArt

It's a chilly late afternoon in the forest.  The snow glows on the creaking branches of the trees.  All I hear is the crunching of my boots down the icy path.  This is the season of hibernation.  A time of reflection and calm.

This painting would look best in a space that is green, red, yellow, dark blue, light blue, orange, violet, purple, green, brown  beige, white, black, or on wood.

Classic wooden motor boats race through Skaneateles Lake on a fine summer afternoon.  After some light shopping and heavenly burgers, we decide to hike along the shoreline.  An old vineyard somehow manages to survive the invasion of mega-mansions.  There's a cool breeze coming off the lake on a hot day.  An increasing rare sacred open space along the Finger Lakes.

This painting would look best in a space that is light orange, navy blue, burgundy red, evergreen, or cadmium yellow, purple, black, white, beige, or wood
